Alissa Firsova, star classical pianist,
to perform at Nicolet June 6
Internationally-acclaimed classical pianist Alissa Firsova will give a special performance
at Nicolet College Saturday, June 6, as part of a retirement celebration to honor
Nicolet President Adrian Lorbetske, who will be leaving the post at the end of June.
The evening will start with a reception at 7 p.m. with the serving of wine, cheese and other refreshments in the Nicolet College Theatre commons area. This will be followed by the concert at 8 p.m. in the theatre. Coffee and cookies will be served at intermission.

The Russian-born pianist and composer is a rising star on the international classical music scene, studying under several of the world's preeminent pianists and composers. The 22-year-old is currently a student at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London.
Even at her young age, Firsova has already won numerous classical music competitions.
She has also been commissioned by the ABRSM, the world's leading music examination's board, to write pieces for both the cello and the piano. Firsova's compositions have been performed by ensembles in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.
Lorbetske is retiring after serving 18 years as president of Nicolet, nearly half of the time the college has been in existence and longer than any other Nicolet president.
The celebration is being sponsored by the Nicolet College Board of Trustees and the Nicolet College Foundation.
