Nicolet College - Short-term Basic Highway Construction starts June 22
One-week Basic Highway Construction
training starts June 22 at Nicolet College
Individuals interested in a career in highway construction can learn the basics of
the job during an introductory one-week training session at Nicolet College that starts
Monday, June 22.
Courses in the five-day session include:
- Flagger Safety Training
- OSHA Voluntary Compliance Course for the Construction Industry
- MSHA Trucker Safety
- Math Skills Refresher for Construction.
Nicolet created this offering in response to federal stimulus package spending, which is channeling money to increase road construction.
Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 22; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 23; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 24; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 24; and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 26. The schedule also calls for one hour for lunch Monday through Thursday.
Tuition is $216.
All classes will be held in Tamarack Center Room 210 on the Rhinelander campus, located one mile south of the city just off of Hwy. G.
