Free Culinary Arts demonstration Wednesday

 

The Nicolet College Library will launch its new Library Culinary Series with Kevin Brown, Nicolet Culinary instructor, at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the library lounge.

Cooking with Kevin will feature several cooking demonstrations as well as a primer on the correct way to sharpen knives.

The event is free and open to the public.

Brown will demonstrate how to make Chipotle Corn Cakes with Shrimp. Second-year culinary students will also demonstrate how to prepare dishes. These will include Quick Pork Satay with student chef Dan Wright and Tomato Sauce Tips with student chef Tricia Ori. Student chef Leif Peterson will present Knife Sharpening 101.

The students will also offer their thoughts on Nicolet’s Culinary program for prospective students in the audience considering enrolling in the Culinary program.

Instructor Brown joined the Nicolet faculty in 2008, bringing with him extensive experience in the culinary and hospitality fields. He is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute and has worked with famed Southwestern Chef Mark Miller and at upscale restaurants and resorts.
