Nicolet College - Experience London through Nicolet study tour
Experience London through
Nicolet College's study tour of that city
The world-class art of London will take center stage for individuals in the upcoming Nicolet College study tour class which will visit London Jan. 1 to 12, 2010.
Students will visit many of the finest museums and historic sites in and around one of the world's most culturally-rich cities. The study tour class includes three university transfer liberal arts credits.
"Seeing the classic paintings and sculptures first-hand was much more meaningful than reading about them or seeing a picture," said Jonathan Reynolds, who has taken the study tour. "Nearly every culture you can think of was represented in the art galleries, as well as on the streets of London. There's no question the London Study Tour deepened my understanding of the world."
Museum visits will include the British Museum, Courtauld Gallery, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain, Tate Modern Gallery, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The tour will be led by Nicolet art instructor Bob Kanyusik, who has taught art at Nicolet for 27 years.
The tour, in its 12th year, will also include full-day excursions to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. Participants will also have ample time to themselves to study, shop or sightsee on their own.
Lodging will be at the Mentone Hotel in Bloomsbury's west end. Cost for the trip is $1,600 plus $424.45 for tuition. This includes all air and ground transportation from Rhinelander, lodging, breakfasts, tickets to all designated events, guide service, and three university transfer credits.
