scholarship applications now available

The Nicolet College Foundation is currently distributing scholarship applications for the 2009-10 school year. More than $160,000 will be distributed to full and part-time students attending Nicolet.

Completed applications must be postmarked or delivered by Monday, March 16, to the Foundation Office, Room 219 of the University Transfer Center on the Rhinelander campus.
Nicolet scholarships are available for both incoming and continuing students enrolling at Nicolet College next fall. Scholarship funds are applied directly to tuition costs.

To be considered, students must turn in a completed application, a copy of their academic transcript, and two completed recommendation forms by the March 16 deadline.

People needing applications can find them in every academic building on the Rhinelander campus, the Lakeland Campus, Northern Advantage, Northpoint Center, and high school guidance offices in the Nicolet district.

For more information, contact the Nicolet College Foundation Office at (715) 365-4518, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4518 or by email at jneuraut@nicoletcollege.edu.

To be eligible, full-time students must take a minimum of nine credits. Part-time students must carry three to eight credits. Full-time students can receive between $500 and $3,000 and part-time students can receive a $400 scholarship.

All applicants must have a grade point average of at least 2.5 or score at the program readiness level on the Accuplacer test (certain restrictions apply).

The $1,500 University Transfer Liberal Arts Program Award and the $1,000 Robert Steger Award are also available. They will be awarded to current Nicolet students in the University Transfer Liberal Arts Program who will be transferring to a four-year college or university. Further requirement information can be found on the applications for those scholarships.
