Nicolet Live! features
Scott Kirby in concert Feb. 3

If you make a point to catch Scott Kirby in concert at Nicolet College Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, there's a good chance that someday you'll be able to say you knew him when.

This up and coming Northwoods musician and poet is gaining notoriety with his second album, Good Morning Jo, which is an all-original and melodious folk/blues/rock compilation that showcases Kirby's considerable talent.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are $7 and can be purchased online at www.nicoletlive.com or by phone at the Nicolet College Box Office at (715) 365-4646 or 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4646.

Showcased as part of the Nicolet Live! local artists series, Kirby combines exquisite guitar-playing, harmonica and a supple voice to deliver a "nice, clean organic sound that gets a little wild."

Good Morning, Jo features tunes written about universal themes that lodge the lyrics right into your head. With influences ranging from Ray Charles to Neil Young to John Mellencamp, one reviewer said, Ait=s alternative rock meets bluegrass. It=s as if O.A.R. is playing the Grand Ole Opry.

Kirby's concert is one of 22 different events in this year's Nicolet Live! Arts and Speakers series. Following Kirby on Monday, Feb. 9, will be the GeoCinema presentation Ten Questions for the Dalai Llama with Rick Ray.

Admission to Ten Questions for the Dalai Lama is free.
