Nicolet College - Comedy of Errors auditions March 1, 2

Comedy of Errors auditions
March 1, 2 at Nicolet College

Community members interested in acting in Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors are invited to audition with the Nicolet Players at 7 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, March 1 and 2, in the Nicolet College Theatre

“It’s common for actors to be intimidated by Shakespeare but once they comprehend the lines, they find out how thrilling it is to perform his plays,” said Jim Nuttall, Nicolet College theatre director. “The Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare’s earliest and shortest plays, and is perhaps his most popular comedy. It has all the elements of a great farce; mistaken identities and temper tantrums, sword fighting and chases, and of course Shakespeare’s wonderful language.”

No acting experience is necessary and first-time actors are encouraged to audition, Nuttall added.

The play calls for 12 men and six women. Roles range from major parts to smaller, non-speaking roles. Scripts are not available for check-out, but links to online scripts and other audition information can be found on the Nicolet Live! Facebook page, which can be accessed through

Rehearsals will last for eight weeks and culminate with public performance the first two weekends in May.
