Nicolet Players seek volunteers
for Fright Factory Haunted House

Posted Wed., Aug. 4, 2010

The Nicolet Players are looking for actors and construction volunteers for the Fright Factory Haunted House coming to downtown Rhinelander this Halloween.

“We’ll need at least two dozen actors to play characters inside the house,” said Nicolet Theatre Director Jim Nuttall. “For the crew, we’ll need carpenters, welders, electricians, painters, costumers, set decorators and prop builders. You don’t need to have any special skills or experience in building haunted houses – who has, for that matter? You just need to be 14 years of age or older, enthusiastic and devoted to scaring people silly.”

The first organizational meeting for volunteers is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, in the Nicolet Theatre on the Rhinelander campus. “This is the time to bring any suggestions you may have for rooms in the house and we’ll try to incorporate them,” he said. Volunteers are asked to bring their personal calendars, as scheduling will begin that evening.

Construction volunteers will assemble more than 4,000 square feet of mazes and rooms during September and October. Actors will learn their routines one night before the event begins.

For two weekends, Oct. 21 to 24 and again Oct. 28 to 31, the brave of heart will wander through dimly-lit corridors of the Fright Factory and be delightfully scared by mournful ghosts, restless mummies and muttering murderers.

The Fright Factory is being co-sponsored by Downtown Rhinelander, Inc.
