Posted Monday, Nov. 8, 2010

Parents and prospective students can get a first-hand look at Nicolet College and its career programs during Parent Night Open House from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Learning Resources Center on the Rhinelander campus.

Those attending will have the opportunity to talk to instructors from the college’s academic programs, learn how to complete the admissions process and apply for financial aid and scholarships, and hear about what parents and students need to know to conduct a successful college search. Information will also be available on career development and job placement, internships, apprenticeships, and special needs assistance.

From 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., instructors and staff from all of Nicolet’s academic programs and service areas will be on hand in the LRC Lobby to talk informally with parents and prospective students.

At 6:15 p.m., a panel of advisors from the University of Wisconsin will discuss how easily Nicolet University Transfer – Liberal Arts credits transfer into the UW system for students seeking a bachelor’s degree. This will be followed by a presentation by Erica Warning, Forward Service Corp./Educational Talent Search. She will talk about career pathways and how college students can reach their education and career goals. Both of these events will take place in the Nicolet Theatre.

Nicolet currently offers 60 different associate degree, diploma, certificate, and apprenticeship programs along with a University Transfer Liberal Arts Program, where students complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree.

Appetizers will be served during the open house.
