Nicolet College - Rainbow Fish
Posted Monday, Nov. 1, 2010
The award-winning ArtsPower theater troupe will return to Nicolet College Saturday, Nov. 13, when it presents The Rainbow Fish, a high-energy musical tailored to the younger crowd.
The performance will start at 11 a.m. in the Nicolet College Theatre.
“ArtsPower has performed at Nicolet every year for seven years, and each time the troupe delivers a polished, exciting production,” said Nicolet College Theatre director Jim Nuttall.
The Rainbow Fish tells the story of a fish with lovely colors and shimmering scales. Rainbow Fish is the most beautiful creature in the ocean, and she knows it. When other fish ask for some of her silver scales, she refuses, since it’s her shiny scales that make her unique. Wise old Octopus tries to make her see that “looking good” isn’t as important has being a true friend. The question is, will Rainbow Fish heed his advice and share some of her beautiful scales?
“This is wonderful theatre for the kindergarten through 2nd grade set,” said Nuttall. “ArtsPower turns Marcus Pfister’s book of the same title into a visual and sound extravaganza that emphasizes family relationships, values, literature and music.”
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, and may be purchased online at nicoletcollege.edu, or by calling the Nicolet box office at 715-365-4646, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4646; or TDD (715) 365-4559, 711 relay.
The Nicolet College Theatre is located in the Learning Resources Center on the Rhinelander campus, one mile south of the city just off of Hwy. G.
