Webinar for women business owners Nov. 17
Posted Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010
Women who own businesses are invited to attend a free webinar Wednesday, Nov. 17, that will lay out the state certification process to be listed in the Wisconsin Directory of Women-Owned Business.
The webinar will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants can take part via their home or work computers, or on Nicolet College’s Rhinelander campus in Northwoods Center room 211. The event is being sponsored by Nicolet and the Wisconsin Department of Commerce.
Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) certification provides credibility to women-owned businesses. Entities that do business with certified women-owned businesses can be confident that their reporting of dollars spent with women-owned businesses will be verifiable and credible.
Carol Dunn, Women’s Business Ombudsman with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, will present the webinar. Dunn will cover the requirements, benefits and process of becoming WBE certified. She will guide the participants through the preparation of a WBE application, and demystify the supporting documentation requirements. A question-and-answer session will follow the webinar.
Early registration is preferred as a pre-webinar survey is being asked to be completed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, which will be emailed to registrants prior to the webinar. Individuals interested in participating in the webinar may contact Michelle Madl, Nicolet business development coordinator, at (715) 365-4492, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4492; TDD (715) 365-4558, relay 711; or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
