The Nicolet College Board of Trustees recently honored five college employees with prestigious Board Awards for superior job performance in a variety of capacities, all aimed at delivering high quality instruction to students and furthering other aspects of the college’s mission.
Recipients of 2011 Board Awards include, front row, left to right, Joyce Leavitt, computer programmer/analyst; Lisa Landphier, human resources generalist; back row, Jeff Labs, Building Trades-Carpentry instructor; Bethyn Baldauf, educational data administrative assistant; and John Van De Loo, director of Accounting and Business Services.
Comments from the nominating papers for each include:
Joyce Leavitt & Bethyn Baldauf
“Joyce and Bethyn went beyond ‘the call of duty.’ They rose to the challenge of process improvement. They are well deserving of the Nicolet College Board of Trustees Award because they are both outstanding, intelligent support personnel who consistently demonstrate excellence in their work and who are unafraid to face new challenges with an innovative spirit. They show us what can be accomplished when we work as a team.”
“Lisa has perfected the art of organizing, multitasking, and managing multiple priorities. Lisa accomplishes a high volume of work on a daily basis while efficiently and effectively managing the demands of the job. Lisa always delivers outstanding customer service. As a result of her capabilities and commitment, our HR Department has developed into a comprehensive, trusted and respected division of Nicolet College.”
“Jeff saw the opportunity to grow the Building Trades and Carpentry program into a larger opportunity for his students and the community. He demonstrated superior performance of his regularly assigned duties at the same time he was creating a new program. He served as a resource, content expert, and collaborator in the new program development process. The community will benefit as graduates build new homes and businesses in our community that conserve energy and water resources.
John Van De Loo
“John possesses incredible accounting and business knowledge and provides outstanding service in the areas of budgeting, fund accounting and financial reporting. He is a dedicated employee with an incredible work ethic, working collaboratively with community members, students, staff, faculty and administrators, auditors and outside vendors.
“John is known for his reserved style and calm unflappable demeanor in all situations. He is a professional who sets high standards for customer service, efficiency and workload in our accounting and business services office. Nicolet College is blessed to have John who has the knowledge and skills to lead us into the future during a challenging financial time.”
