Nicolet Learning in Retirement Kick-Off Jan. 11

All Northwoods retirees interested in life-long learning are invited to the Nicolet College Learning in Retirement Winter/Spring Kick-Off at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Nicolet College.

The annual event marks the start of the organization’s Winter/Spring Session, which features nearly 50 different just-for-the-fun-of-it learning opportunities.

The Kick-Off will include refreshments and entertainment by the local jazz combo PTB and Friends.

This free event will take place in the Learning Resources Center on Nicolet’s Rhinelander campus, one mile south of the city just off of Hwy. G. No reservations are required.

Topics in the upcoming Winter/Spring Session covers a wide gamut of classes that include Winter in the Northwoods nature study, Container Gardening, Fireworks as a Hobby, Geocaching, Men’s and Women’s Health Issues, Poetry, Musky Fishing, several history presentations, world travel and many more.

Classes will be held in a variety of locations that include Woodruff, Sugar Camp, Three Lakes, Lakeland area, Tomahawk, and Rhinelander. An annual LIR membership is $35. Members can take as many or as few classes as they desire.
