Nicolet College is holding a career information session specifically for men interested in entering a health care profession Wednesday, April 27, on the Rhinelander campus.
“Traditionally, many fields in health care attract mostly women,” said Lenore Mangles, dean of Health Occupations at Nicolet. “But over the past several years we’ve seen more men entering these fields and we want to encourage even more to do so.”
The information session will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in room 208 of the Art-Tech Center.
The event will feature a panel discussion led by men working in health care along with specific information about the eight different academic programs Nicolet offers in the health field. Information will also be available about the college’s admissions process, financial aid, scholarships and academic advising.
Those attending will also have the opportunity to tour labs and classrooms, meet instructors, and view different demonstrations. Refreshments will be served.
Health occupation programs at Nicolet include Nursing, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Surgical Technologist, Radiography, Clinical Lab Technician, Pharmacy Technician and Phlebotomy.
