Thirteen recruits recently graduated from the Nicolet College Law Enforcement Recruit Academy, certifying each to work in law enforcement agencies in the state of Wisconsin.

Graduates and instructors in the 2011 Academy included, front row, left to right, Bradley Bowman, White Lake, Nathaniel Stetzer, Wausau, Luke Kozisek, Minocqua, David Geiss, Minocqua, Kevin Conlon, Lake Geneva, Peter Lovas, Eagle River; back row, Eric Reed, Amherst Junction, Jacob Sterr, Menomonee Falls, Kristopher Retzlaff, Laona, Instructor Glenn Schaepe, Andrew Johnson, Wausau, Instructor Phil Schmidt, Christopher Tanner, Eagle River, William Moore, Washburn, Anthony Schuett, Merrill, Instructor Terri Smoczyk, and Instructor Lloyd Gauthier.

The 13-week, 520-hour program was run in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Instruction included lectures and hands-on training that covered Policing in America, Tactical Skills, Patrol Procedures, Investigations, and Emergency Medical Response for Law Enforcement. Specialized skills such as Emergency Vehicle Operation, Firearms, Professional Communications, and Defense and Arrest Tactics were also taught.
